What we collect, why, and the rights you have over it.
Legal review pending. This is a first-pass draft written from how Ping actually handles data today, not final legal copy. It will be reviewed and finalised before launch.
Who we are
Ping is run by Ping Talent AB, based in Stockholm. For anything in this policy, contact us at hej@ping.talent.
What we collect
When you create a candidate profile, we collect:
- Your name and email address, from sign-in (magic link or Google OAuth) — and a profile photo, if your Google account has one
- Basic profile details you provide: location, age, and what you're seeking
- Your education (school and programme) and skills
- Your consent decisions on individual job matches, and when you last signed in
We don't collect more than we need to compute and explain your matches. We don't buy, sell, or receive candidate data from third parties.
Why we collect it
We use your profile to compute a compatibility score against open roles and to show you why you matched. We use your email to send you match notifications and account updates. We process this data because it's necessary to provide the matching service you signed up for, and because you've consented to specific uses (like sharing your profile with a company) at the point you take that action.
Who sees your data, and when
Your profile is never visible to a company by default. When you show interest in a role, the company sees an anonymized entry (a rank, your match score, and which of their required skills you have) — not your name, email, or contact details.
When a role closes, the company's top 3 highest-scoring interested candidates have their full profile (name, email, location, education, and matched skills) revealed to that company. If you're not selected, your identity is never shared for that role. You can withdraw your interest at any time before a company contacts you.
How long we keep it
If you stop signing in for 6 months, your profile is deactivated and your matches stop updating — your data isn't deleted, and you can reactivate by simply signing back in.
You can request full account deletion at any time from your profile settings. Deletion is scheduled with a 48-hour grace period (during which you can cancel it, and we'll email you a reminder), after which your account, profile, matches, and consent records are permanently removed. Minimal records legally required for security or dispute purposes may be retained briefly afterward; the exact retention period is still being finalised as part of our pre-launch legal review.
Cookies
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
Your rights
If you're in the EU/EEA or UK, you have rights under GDPR over your personal data, including the right to access, correct, export, or delete it, and to object to or restrict how we process it. Account deletion is self-service from your profile settings; for access, correction, export, or any other request, email hej@ping.talent and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product changes. If we make material changes, we'll let you know before they take effect. See also our Terms of Service.
